Our Story
Brazilian Hair Design was founded by Joyce Kayata, a native Brazilian and licensed beauty professional with more than 30 years of experience. Her journey began in Brazil in 1989, where she opened her first salon and mastered the techniques that would later become her signature: hair color, keratin, hair extensions, nails, and Brazilian waxing.
After moving to the United States, Joyce built her business from the ground up — one client at a time — guided by passion, skill, and dedication.
A Vision Built on Passion
In 2005, Joyce established Brazilian Hair Design Incorporated in Rhode Island. With no existing client base, she invested in creating an environment centered on trust, comfort, and exceptional service.
By 2011, the salon expanded to a larger spa-like space to better serve its growing community.
